Oh my good gracious. I am so incredibly excited to share this newborn session with you all! Meet beautiful Camila. She was so absolutely stunning in this red themed session, (which is one of her mama’s favorite colors). Her sweet parents remind me so much of my husband and I when we had our first baby. Drunk with love for our little blessing, and more in love with each other than we’s ever been. Even though I usually recommend babies born at term (not more than 3 weeks premature) to be photographed at 5-14 days old, I never turn a baby away as long as my schedule allows because older newborns need photographs captured of their early days as well, and Camila did great! She was a dream for this Houston Newborn Fine Art Photographer.
Typically, with older newborns there is a higher chance of fussy fits and tempered tears. But Camila was an absolute dream. With the little ones, they typically sleep pretty well throughout the session, which makes transitioning them from pose to pose easier, but we didn’t run into any issues with little miss here. I’m actually super excited that she was awake for most of the session! It allowed us to capture her sweet and silly personality 🙂 Just look at those eyes and lashes!! Be still my heart! <3
I just can’t get over how well this sweet girl did at her newborn session. Have an older newborn and haven’t had the chance to book your own newborn session? Don’t worry! I would love to make your newborn photography dreams a reality! Let’s chat!
Precious girl, how loved you are. Michaela is a sweet rainbow baby. The emotion and joy that filled the room during this session forever left a mark on my heart. As a mom of three gorgeous little girls and a Richmond Newborn Family Portrait Photographer, my heart breaks for the little ones that never made it this side of Earth. For the angels too perfect for this world, who are waiting to welcome us home.
I loved getting to know more about Michaela’s parents, and geeze!… What incredibly impressive people they are! Both are marathon runners and avid snowboarders. Actually, Dad participated in a marathon just the day after this session! Makes me sleepy just thinking about it! I first met mom and Michaela’s big sister at her maternity session. We immediately hit it off and I was so excited to see them again for this newborn session.
Mom and Dad decided to keep Michaela’s gender a surprise until birth. How exciting! I can only imagine the hours spent, in delightful anticipation, waiting to see if they would be welcoming a gorgeous little girl or a handsome little man into their family’s waiting arms. I was so excited to hear that they had another little girl. I’ve had such fun raising and teaching my three little ladies and know there’s something so special about a mother’s bond with her daughters. I think onto my relationship with my sweet mama. There’s a deep part of my heart that she has taken residence in, from which she will never leave. I know both Michaela and her beautiful big sister will feel the same way!

I adore how these pictures came out! Everyone meet little Everly. A beautiful name for an even more beautiful baby girl, doesn’t everything about this session shout dreamy love? How lucky am I as a Houston Studio Newborn Photographer to get to work with such adorable clients?!
Everly here is baby sister to a pretty awesome big brother, and I can only imagine the fun times they are bound to share. Having three girls myself, I’ve always wondered what it would be like if we had a little boy in the mix. Would there be tiny dinosaur figures and toy-soldiers thrown in the overflowing toy-box? Or would it be packed full of monster trucks or superhero capes? Knowing how much my little ones love their toys, probably all of the above!
We stuck with varying shades of cream and ivory, while incorporating various textures and props to add dimension and depth. This has to be hands down one of my favorite color schemes for newborn sessions. It’s just so fresh and clean! Exactly what I think of when I picture a brand new baby. I love that in photography, simplicity does not mean one-dimensional. There is such beauty and depth in simplicity; in the art of letting the subject matter do the talking, unencumbered by distractions and visual noise.
Throughout the entire session, Everly was such a dream. Literally. She slept so incredibly soundly and was a cinch to pose in those oh-so loved sleepy poses I adore. At the end of the session, mom really wanted to get some sweet pictures of Everly’s beautiful eyes. What a happy baby she was! She smiled and cooed as we captured these precious images. Love these little ones!
